Bunny ears
According to a very important survey, 72% of the people eat the ears of their chocolate Easter bunnies first.I am surprized it's not higher.
I think all people should eat the ears first.
I think they should create and sell an ears-only chocolate treat as well. They are the best part.
I'm gonna call Rick Mercer.

Jocko the stud

has died of natural causes leaving behind as many as 400,000 offsprings. Jocko had an industrious 17-year career donating some 1.7 million sperm straws (vials) that were used in France and abroad to keep alive the Prim'Holstein cattle strain, the main strain of black-and-white milking cow used in France. He ranked third globally in terms of use. Born in 1994 at a farm belonging to breeder Gildas Fertil, Jocko was allowed to retire last year and died earlier this month. Rather than becoming prize beef, his body is to be sent to Paris' natural history museum where his prowess will be studied. ~~Reuters news

Tidy Tuesday

Yes, it's Wednesday, not Tuesday at all. I am a day late.
Here's a some things that Tidy Tuesday inspired me to try, over the year, with success ...
- long candles, now stored in paper towel roll
- shine up my sink regularly with olive oil
- now use homemade detergent
- I mark the centre of son#2's top sheet with a colored stitch for easy bed making
- all manuals now stored in an accordian file
- lazy susan now has cans on top, pasta on bottom
- small dishes used as "launching pads" on nightstand & window sill
- if I buy a new top, I toss out/donate a top
- took pictures of sentimental stuff I no longer wanted to display, and got rid of them
- I roll my son's t-shirts in his dresser drawer, and he can see them all and choose one, without flipping the works
- I used the counter top rule for my kitchen, and stored my kitchenaid
- When in the mood, I'll do the 27 item clean up

I guess I've been on a March break...
Back to work today, and back to blogging tonight.
Going to seem strange.
A Wednesday without a puzzle to solve.

Saturday at the Red Cap !
Where are you Mickey???
He's been missing for 5 days. His family misses him badly.
Seems as though catting season has hit the Pond Road.
There is much excitement around and beyond the Chemin de Cornu (Cabane Road)
and our cats, especially my Oscar, are daily visitors.
It must be the puuurfect place to hang out.
If you see Mickey, let his family know.

Monday's Sexual Post
Since the golf course opened... I wondered. Have you ever had sex on the golf course? I researched a bit, but when googling sex and golf, all I came up with was Tiger Woods.
Then I did find advice.
Not a good idea for sex on #1 or on #18.
And keep of the greens. May be chemicals on there.
And keep out of the sand too.
Black fly season would be a killer. And so would tick season.
On the West Pubnico Course, I would say the best "holes" for sex would be #5 tee off, and the #15 path to # 16.
#2 tee off could do, but you'd have to make it snappy.

Aquaculture Facts
PCB's and Dioxins are the topic.
Harvard researchers recently reported that they found that the benefits of eating fish far outweighed the potential risks of PCB's (polychlorinated biphenyls) and dioxins.
The levels of PCBs and dioxins in fish species are low - similar to other commonly consumed foods such as beef, chicken, pork, eggs, and butter. Furthermore, only 9% of the PCBs and dioxins in the food supply come from fish and other seafood; more than 90% comes from other foods such as meats, vegetables, and dairy products .
"The cardiovascular benefits of eating omega-3 rich seafood - like farmed salmon - are greater than the PCB/dioxin risks by a factor of at least 300:1. Seafood is likely the single most important food one can consume for good health" ~~ Dr. D. Mozaffarian, Harvard School of Public Health.

Looking after You
I read this article about looking after ourselves. Here are 4 things we can easily do...
- Hydrate ! with water ! Your body will love you for it.
- Eat nutrients. They weren't talking about strict diets or eliminating foods. They mentioned simply looking at your plate/menu/snack and asking yourself "what could I add here for a good supply of nutrients?"
- Breathe. Practise taking the time to make three big breaths through your nose. especially if you are starting to feel stressed. Your body will love the oxygen !
- Move. Somehow, somewhere. Just move everyday.
Jalapeño Peppers
There are many health benefits to eating Jalapeño Peppers regularly. The capsaicin, the stuff that makes peppers hot is good for sinuses, sinus headaches and congestion, and I even read a report about capsaicin killing cancerous cells in prostate.
Other than burning your tongue, if you need any warnings, I must warn you about cutting Jalapeño peppers. You must wear gloves, or a baggy on your hands to handle peppers, or your hands will burn for hours, just as if they had been scalded. When you are finished, always wash your hands well with soap and water, careful not to touch or rub your eyes, mouth and nose.
Interestingly, red Jalapeño peppers aren't as strong as the green. They are supposed to be a bit sweeter as they were left on the vine longer to ripen.

Carrots and Rabbits
Today at the home we planted carrots (they planted carrots). We are going to attempt growing carrots in an empty aquarium. We also planted a few tulip bulbs, in little pots, for them to nourish and love in their rooms. Then I got inventive... We took the larger aquarium, and put stones in the bottom and dirt 1/3 of the way up the glass walls. We planted 7 carrot tops just under the soil, and placed two ceramic bunnies in there. I hung a couple Easter eggs inside, and it's going to be our "Easter Garden". It should be cute once the little forest of carrot tops grows.
And I had also read the following..." Core out the top of a carrot and put a hole on both sides to attach a string. Hang in a sunny place & put water in the top of the carrot where you cut it out and watch the magic in a few days keep it watered. " So we tried it. Not sure what the magic will be.
I told the residents the easter bunny would come for sure, with carrots hanging in our windows.
