Week # 9 Lazy Chili

If you can run a can opener, you ca make this lazy chili.

Brown a "family pack" of hamburg, with a small chopped onion in it. Drain any fat. You may want to add a chopped green papper to this mixture.
In a crockpot add: the hamburg & onion
1 can tomato soup
1 can mushrooms
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 envelopes chili seasoning ( I used the hot and spicy and it's not really hot and spicy)
2 large cans diced tomatoes
3 cans red kidney beans
Cook 6 hours on low. Makes lots and should have enough moisture. Taste good, but not really spicy enough for me.

Love those blog readers !!!!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite gals ... RSCUTIE !
She's 15 today !

Tidy Tuesday

Today's tip has to do with the end of school, and the return of precious school work, and used supplies.
My sis is the most organized when it comes to the end of the year.
Once she gets the report card, she sits down with the child's school work. She only saves what is worth saving. Places it in a large envelope, puts the report card inside as well, and on the outside she writes the school year, such as " Grade 8" , and attaches a school year picture to it. Seals it and puts it away.
I do save some work, and store it in the "Tupperware box" I have for each child.
I also have a large tupperware container for new, unused, supplies.
As for used supplies, if they are good. I will keep them.
In my dining room, I have what the kids call a "homework box". It's a nice tall box, with rounded edges, says " Amazing Grace" on the outside, but inside it has 2 jars with crayons, markers, has a ruler, glue, becherelle, and dictionary. They have gotten in the habit of doing homework in there, and they always use the homework box.
One habit I have, is getting the next years supplies right away. It may not be cost saving, but I have the school stuff ready to go in the first week of July, just incase the CSAP decide to open August 1st for a change :)

Monday's Sexual Post

Semen is today's topic.
I read about semen this week and learned the following;
In one teaspoon of semen, there is about as much Vitamin C as an entire orange, it's low in fat, and has only 5 to 7 calories per teaspoon serving. It also contains calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin B12 and zinc.
So should you quit taking your multi vitamin? Probably not.
It's also supposedly hard on your teeth, promotes cavities, & gum disease. So, unless you are toothless, ( which may or may not enhance his pleasure) it's suggested you may want to use a rinse, or mouthwash after having swallowed semen.
And I also read that women who give fellatio to their partners regularly, will have an easier pregnancy since their bodies will be accustomed to the foreign DNA in their bodies.
Who writes this stuff? Gotta be a man. Don't believe everything you read, I say.
What I do say is, if you regularly give fellatio to your partner, you'll likely have a harder time to conceive.
A special hello to the Monday night ladies .... who always discuss my sexual post as they complete their round of golf (especially one certain group.)
So until next Monday ... Go easy on the calories !

Meet Oscar

Here's our new "replacement" feline.
Starting to fall asleep on the desk, as he waits for me to finish up on the computer.
When we went to Argyle to pick him up, the Spinneys could not find him anywhere. They frantically searched everywhere, even the washing machine. We ended up leaving without him, but he was delivered to us a couple hours later.
I had suggested we call him Bin Laden, since he was so good at hiding for a long period of time.
Oscar's a good kitty, so far.
He hasn't met the Silent One yet, who said, "No more cats".

Marriage Advice?

I chatted with a newly engaged man last night. While I had no marriage advice, I did share with him the trick we women have to deal with marriage and make it last. It comes from the Cuter One, who has been married twice as long as I, therefore she should know.
Men have three phases they go through.
There is the lover phase, where everything is great and he can't get enough of you.
Then there is the husband phase, where he really focuses on the household and being a good husband.
Then comes the prick phase, where he is a acting like one.

If you don't like one of the phases he's in, you wait it out, and he will go into the next phase.
This phase rotation never stops.

And that's good advice for you as well, Bride to be. Was nice seeing you Thursday :)

But what she says she can't figure out, is how one minute we are so angry at him, and the next minute we have his penis in our hand.

Week #8 Chicken and Rice Casserole

Here it is, the last day of the week, and about time for a casserole.
1 cup rice
1 can cream of chicken soup ( I used mushroom)
1 7/8 cups water ( I used 2 cups)
1 package dry onion soup mix
4 skinless, pieces of chicken

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  2. Mix everything together in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Rinse chicken and pat dry; arrange chicken pieces on top of rice.

  3. Cover and seal TIGHTLY with foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Comments: I added a large handful of frozen peas to it, and also some grated cheese just before I served it. I should have ran to the store for cream of chicken, as I think it would have been better. But, it certainly wasn't bad. Son #1 and I both agreed we liked the peas. I didn't really like the cheddar cheese on it, but he sure did. It was good !

Grass Widows

Last night 'Tit nat and I attended the Pub Night at Ye Olde Argyler, since our husbands were out fishing ( great music and excellent pub buffet). I spoke with GN, better half of the dancing queen, and he was telling us that his father would have refered to gals like us, as grass widows.
I did some research, and yes indeed, grass widow is a term used for a woman whose temporarily apart from her husband. The term comes from ages ago, when grass or hay meant, of course, the bedding, or "mattress" as we know it. The earliest recorded use of the term "grass widow" is in 1528. Impressive !
As times have changed, it also has been used to refer to a woman who is divorced, has a child out of wedlock, or is single but has lived with several men.
I like the first, original term. It's very interesting indeed.
He also spoke of "Ass connections". Meaning having "ass connections" with those from your spouses' side of the family. Hence, you could say I have "ass connections" with the Red Cap.
I tried to google it, but searching for something "innocent" with the word "ass" isn't so easy. Thanks GN for your knowledge, and your wit !
Keep your chrome polished !

The Birdie

So the hostess shot a line drive on #11 and hit a bird, and knocked him dead.
Today on Facebook she posts: Horoscopes today says that I'm looking for fun and entertainment. Anybody has any ideas?
Mme E suggests: go to the Tern festival
Hostess replies: I can't go to the tern festival, they know me as the bird killer.

Shoppe a Slu trivia

So.... are you a shoppe a Slu pro?
Under the gum .... Kotex and stayfree pads
It was a wooden stool around the end of the counter, around that filing cabinet.
The bread was kept to the left when you entered. There was bread, and then 2 freezers, and a cooler I believe.
Balloons could be found if you walked down the centre aisle, to the back wall ( near a door). They were in a bag stapled to a cardboard.
Undershirts were under that table type display ( across from the thread) there was lots of boxes under there... socks, shoelaces, etc...
Candy display .... housed penny candy to the left, and bars to the right. I liked that McIntosh Toffee in the red plaid box, and the round Pep bar. And if you were too short to see, you stood on anything that was available... a box, a case, or get your friend to lift you. There was no designated stool that I am aware of.
The Comet cleanser was across freezer #1.
Cigarettes? They had a cool wooden dispenser behind the counter. They would refill it from the top. It housed many packages. I think the tobacco was under the counter.
And to save all those footprints on clean floors, they laid down cardboard !
The Far west wall held of course, the Christmas stuff at Christmas time. She always had tickets on sale on a walking doll. We never won.
I seem to remember an ashtray, not far from the cash, along the candy display. I picture, in my mind, a copper sombrero ashtray. Anyone recall that?

1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
3 rings onions
Combine the molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and onion in a bowl; stir to combine. Pour marinade over meat and allow to sit in the refrigerator overnight before cooking.

Shoppe a Slu trivia quiz

Answers ( as I remember them) tomorrow....
Picture where the gum was on the shelf. What grocery item was below that shelf?
There was a filing cabinet. By it there was a stool. Was it wooden or metal with a step that flips up?
Where was the bread kept?
Where were balloons kept?
Where were undershirts kept?
The candy display ... did it house any bars, or only penny candy? The candy display ... what kind of stool was used by kids to peek inside?
Comet cleanser? where was that kept?
Cigarettes? Were they behind the counter, or under the counter? When the floors were freshly washed and waxed, what did they use to keep them clean for a bit?
Which was kept on the far west wall, glassware, toilet tissue, or christmas stuff?

Her first Birdie

Leave it to the hostess.

Belly button smell

If your belly button smells like cheese, it likely has left over soap residue and stuff, and needs to be cleaned. It doesn't mean you aren't clean.
Cheese smelling belly buttons is the most common belly button smelling complaint.
And if you have a real "insie", it can even house liquid and get a little crusty around the edges.
Yap, that's true !
Wash and dry is what 'cha need. Q-tips can be used.
I read Tea tree oil is good for this as well as an antiseptic ointment.
Sorry about the picture. I prefer my shrimp and sauce from a platter.

Marinade vs Marinate

So, how do we know which word to use when we talk about steak. Do we marinade steak with marinade? Or do we marinate steak with marinate?
In our country we use marinade ( noun), to marinate (verb) steak. ( Some countries use the same word for verb and noun)
The easy way to remember is this: the steak marinade should always be used in a glass dish, not metal.
d= dish
= the marinade inside the dish

Tidy Tuesday

Albert Einstein said lots of cool stuff, and one thing he said was " Things should be made as simple as possible, but not any simpler."
In other words, unclutter your life, and make it simple as can be, but don't make your life more difficult.
Everything should have it's place to live in your house. If Oprah calls that she's coming over, you shouldn't be able to collect a basket full of "stuff" that doesn't have a place to live in your home. That stuff is clutter. Living clutter free is good for your health they claim.
Experts suggest you take a laundry basket, and roam through your house, and fill it with stuff that doesn't belong where you found it.
Make it your project
  • to put each item away
  • or find it a permanent place to live
  • or pack it up and store it away
  • or give it away
  • or sell it
  • or chuck it out ( or take a picture of it if you're sentimental about it, then chuck it out)
My next project has to do with board games. Some I will give/sell, but the good ones that we use rarely, need to find another place. I have always kept them in my living room, in the cabinet under the TV. They should more further away, since they are rarely used, and they take up a good storage space.

Monday's Sexual Post

One of my "colourful" friends suggested a "menage a trois' may be a good topic for today. (Sorry JM , if you are blushing).
A menage a trois is a term meaning a sex encounter involving three people.
While it sounds absolutely full of sensation and excitement, a menage a trois is not always a great idea.
I read that it takes rules, between the two who are the couple.
Rules and expectations should be discussed.
What is acceptable and not acceptable should be made clear. Captain Morgan shouldn't be the one speaking here. It's serious stuff.
Other rules: be giving as you can, keep your hands busy, pace yourself so you can last & pay attention to both.
Practice safe sex, and if you're a man with two women, keep body fluids separate, one hand for one lady, and the other hand for the other. If you are penetrating the two, get two condoms, and don't mix them up. Whew ! Are you wore out yet ? That's lots to remember and a lot of effort !
Afterwards, realize it's not a relationship. The third lover shouldn't sleep over, or want to cuddle. The menage can cause feelings of jealousy, and insecurity. It's hard to separate sex and love.
Survey says:
Dr Phil says No.
Men say yes, try it, if it's 2 women and 1 guy.
Men say : 2 men and 1 woman is called gay porn.
I say: a menage a trois is best for us if kept between the ears, not between the sheets.

Wasn't she awesome ! The egyptian queen !
Queen of De-nial as singer Pam Tillis calls her.
She was a beauty and she would bathe in milk and honey.
I know it's rather late to start on the beauty part... but here's a recipe for just that.
How to take a milk and honey bath:
Add 1 to 2 cups of milk (or 1/2 c. full-fat powdered milk from Bulk Barn) and 1/2 c. honey under running bathwater. Mix it all in, and soak in it you dream of 5 sexy male servants, wearing fig leaves ( how did they keep things on?) fanning you during your hot flashes with big palm leaves.

It's Father's Day

After you have a child, you realize that no one in the world can love you more than your parent.
Having said that I know my Dad loves me more than anything. He loves all his children and I feel sorry that he had to experience the loss of one child. It's very hard for him & I hate to see him grieve. I admire him for his strength.
Dad is known as a jokester to many, he calls some people fruit loop, and waves with just one finger to others.
But to me he is simply Dad, the one we love, and call when something is broke down, or when we have cooked something good.
He loves our children and is proud of their accomplishments as we are.
He loves to be tormented by us, and we love poking jokes at him.
He told us before, he doesn't know what he's do without his "girls" and their constant attention.
Happy Father's Day to my father ! I love you Dad.

The Bike Club

We rode this evening in beautiful countryside. Argyle Head, Belleville, Sainte Anne du Ruisseau, Eel brook, Glenwood, and trails in between. What a nice night ! Nature really awakens your senses.

One thing that awakens your bottom, is a rough ride.

To any cyclists out there: the ride from Argyle Head to the Tusket on the trails ( old train tracks) is less than desirable. Very rough indeed, with many large rocks.

If you know who is responsible for the grooming of these trails, do share this complaint with them.

Was the scenery beautiful on those tracks? One would not know, as you could not lift your eyes from the trail to have a glance.

When we reached the dirt road of Belleville, it was like riding on a marshmallow.

I read that Dollarama is selling condoms now. Right next to the pregnancy tests. $2 a box.
There's a lot of hype about it. Some people think it doesn't belong in Dollarama. Actually, I think the majority of dollarama shoppers can be broken down into two groups:
  • women who no longer ovulate
  • younger ones looking for loot bag stuff
If we are hoping for young teens to buy them, best to pass them out at Halloween.
For 12 for $2, it's a pretty affordable treat.
This one pictured is "his 'n her pleasure".
Guess they must have improved a lot since we used any.

Gillette Fusion pro Glide

I love Proctor and Gamble samples. But, for some reason I always need to request a new password. I swear I have been asked less questions for a passport.

week #7 1-2-3-4 Casserole

So this morning I assembled this casserole. It was easy to do.
Called a 1 2 3 4 Casserole.
1 or 2 pounds hamburg
2 sliced onions
3 sliced carrots
4 large sliced potatoes
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Add the raw hamburg in the greased crock pot.
Add onion slices. Add salt and pepper.
Add carrots.
In a bowl, take your potatoes and add water to cover them. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar. Now, drain your potatoes. ( Why this? I don't know. Must have to do with preventing potatoes from browning.)
In the potatoes, add a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a 1/2 soup can of milk. Stir them around, and add them to the slow cooker.
Low for 7-8 hours.
Comments: Son #1 was saying it was good before we even sat down with him. He was shoveling it in. He's 15, so really almost anything taste good to him. I said it was bland, and added salt. Loverboy said it tasted nothing. He added salt. Then he added ketchup.
The dog liked it.

from our friends at Lysol. They'll mail you the goods in 6 to 8 weeks.

The lawnmower

I have had different tests lately, and I am thinking that they really should have a look at my brain.
Last night, Loverboy and I shopped for a ride-on mower. We browsed around and he was lifting all the hoods, looking at the engines. So I pitched right in, lifting the hood, and telling him how many horsepower and what make engine. They all basically look the same inside.

When he did find one he liked, he was looking under the hood and said: "Boy, the gas tanks aren't much in these mowers" as he pointed to this white container with a strap across it.

I asked "That's the gas tank?"

Loverboy: "yes, what did you think it was?"

I said: " I probably shouldn't tell you what I was thinking it was .... The windsheild wash".

He almost grinned, and shook his head.

"Pretty bad for a brunette, eh?" I added quickly with a smile.

Tidy Tuesday

Oh laundry. It's like a bottomless barrel. It's really hard to keep up, and stay caught up.
The first step is to put a load to wash. Just do it.
Collecting laundry in hampers is of course the way to do it. And everyone should know what hamper is theirs. But teaching your kids to put the dirty laundry in there, is another challenge.
Last year I decided I would not pick up any laundry from floors.
So it piled up a bit, and I walked over it to make the bed.
Loverboy could not stand it, and wanted to pick it up, but I told him no.
In a few days, when the silver jeans were not washed, and the favorite sleep pants either, the boys learned their lesson.
And it hasn't been a problem since.
  • Doing a load of laundry every day, despite the size, is really a good way to stay on top of it all.
  • Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of the clothes hamper to keep mild dew away.
  • When washing your shower curtain put several old bath towels in the washing machine with it to help scrub off the scum.

She got the invite we sent her.
I addressed it: Twig B0W2C0

Some people are well known to Canada Post.

They asked me why.
My answer: the goalie smiles and seems friendly.
They all think I'm nuts.

Monday's Sexual Post

Last weeks topic was so long and depressing, I think we need something fast, and satisfying. So let's talk about quickies. I'm not talking about quickie divorces, or Quickie Aircrafts. I'm talking about brief & spontaneous sex.
There are alot of different feelings about quickies.
Is a quickie just sex? Can it even be called making love?
Some women don't like it because they don't have the time to orgasm and it's messy. They prefer longer sex, because it makes them feel loved and special.
Some prefer it because they like the passion and the rush. They have busy days and a quickie fits into the agenda.
Most men don't complain about quickies. Surprise, surprise ! But surveys say that they do like a longer sex session occasionally. There's a "under five and over two" rule when it comes to quickies. The session should be under 5 minutes, and over two minutes. Having said that, standing doggy is the best position and the one most used for quickies. Missionary is the worst. (Like I once said, it's good for kissing, and that's about it.) The one thing about standing doggy is we women are able to flex our legs, point your toes, however you want to say it. I don't think it's a world secret that our orgasms are more intense when we flex our leg muscles, and point our toes. If it was a secret, it's now out. If your not "pointing your toes" when you orgasm, try it tonight.
Here's a list of places ingenious men feel are appropriate for quickies.
Movie theater for receiving oral sex
Apartment stairwells
Dark Alley
Dressing Room in Walmart

I always thought the bathroom is an ideal place for a quickie. What more could you want? Various furnishings, all at various heights, mirrors, water, facecloths, towels, a hairbrush, and a door that locks.
I say embrace the quickie sex, and all it's passion, danger & adventure as you only live once. When you find yourself leaning against the wall, trying to catch your breath, the taste of his kisses still on your lips, your breasts out of your bra, undies around one ankle, with a charlie horse coming on .... ask yourself ... how can this be but a good thing?
