Monday`s Sexual post

According to a survey of adults 20 to 59, the average number of sex partners had thus far is 4  for women, and 7 for the men. There was a great deal of controversy with the numbers. Many feel these numbers are low. It mat be a good blog survey topic someday ....
They claim that the average male loses his virginity between 16 and 17 years of age, but the females lose it, on average, around 17.5 years old.
Sex makes people happier ... real sex, not masturbation. And men who cheat are not getting the happy sex, and neither are those who pay for sex.

Golf woes

I went golfing with Son #1 today.
As I watched him hit ball after ball into the deep woods, I thought of my mother and my late brother Craig. They had went golfing when he was around 16 years old as well.
He had no patience and when he started throwing and slamming down his club, my mother told him:" You stay here ! I am going to hit and play this hole by myself, and do not start until you no longer see me !"
Well things weren't that bad today, but on #15, he hit 20 balls. I just kept tossing them to him. Ball after ball, he hit it into the far woods on the left. I tried to correct him. I suggested he aim way right... for #14 tee off. And he did, and the ball likely made it there. He never did get one on that fairway a country mile wide.
Only after #17, when he slowed down his swing, did he stay straight.
We left with a smile... that's all that counts.

Money, money, money

So, still on the quest to spend less on food consumption,  I decided to make a menu (evening meal and the weekend) and on a Friday, I shopped for the week. In addition went to the co-op to get a couple sale items, and bought a few slices of bologna at the Kwikway. Including the milk man delivery, my weeks total was $185.54 ! I am impressed.
(Not including a veggie tray and a fruit tray I bought for a meeting)

Survey Says

72% of readers hoped for a sexual encounter of some kind this weekend, and 4% hoped to avoid one.
16% doubted it, but the weekend isn't over yet.
And 8% said it would be a pleasnt change.

Cream of Chicken Soup Replacement

Here's a recipe to replace one can of store bought cream of chicken soup.

Sissiboo Coffee

Enjoying wonderful coffee this morning. Bought it at the Yarmouth Farmers Market Saturday morning from Sissiboo Coffee Roasters. It`s Tobeatic Wild meduim Roast.
I did learn something from the packaging. The word Sissiboo, was actually a misunderstanding. A local indian pointed to a tree with six owls perched on it. `Six hibous`! He exclaimed.
The loyalist thought he was pointing at the beautiful river, and it became the Sissiboo.

Tidy Tuesday

Cleaning pennies is the topic.
Before I start, I must tell you that I am talking about dirty, in circulation coins.
Don't clean coins that are part of a collection, or may be valuable.
You might decrease it's value.
To clean pennies, here's a simple recipe.
Use a shallow glass bowl , fill it halfway with water. Add 1/4 cup of vinegar. Add a teaspoon of salt, and stir until dissolved. Add 20 to 30 pennies . Every couple minutes, you can stir them. After 5 minutes, take them out.  Rinse and dry them.

I also read that coca cola can be used to clean pennies.

I had one that was very tarnished, and I used an eraser to clean it even more.
As you can see from my pictures... it works !

Monday's sexual Post

I was reading a British article about foreplay.  It said ....
Try three minutes of snogging to get your engines revved.
I had to go get my glasses.
What is that word? Snogging? S N O G
Ok, the British snog.
It's simply a full lip kiss.
And if we snogged like we did when we first met our significant others, we'd see that snogging still works. It causes penises to become erect, and vaginas to become wet. It's just that simple.
Set your iphone alarm for 3 minutes, and have a good snog.
I also read in that article, the missionary position still ranks #1.
It's the easiest to do, and you can snog, smile, and laugh.
( Sorry to have given it such a bad rap at one time)

Flyer night

It's now been a year since I attended "flyer night" at Mrs Field's.
How did it impact my life, you may wonder?
It didn't change me very much.
Somtimes I will pluck out a couple sales.
Most weeks pass without me even opening the flyer bag.
But every Thursday morning, as the dog barks at the flyer man, I think of Mrs Fields, and how those flyers will bring her relaxation and a cup of tea tonight.

Money, Money, Money

If you've been reading lately, you'll know I have been trying to shave off bucks on grocery/food purchases. Well the third week I tried as better, in a few ways. $147.82 was the total, including the milk man and not including $17 spent on two platters for a meeting. But I did go to Halifax overnight.
My best ideas: We ate many meals from the freezer. I packed water, fruit, snacks, veggies, and cheese to eat while travelling. At KFC in the food court, I spent $7.90 for two of us. I had water in my purse, and that was a savings.
The worse of it: I ended up spending $28 on breakfast. I also spent $3 at the games on diet coke and water. On the way back I spent 4.69 at a garage for a drink and piece of cheese.
At home, the cupboards reminded me of Mother Hubbard's cupboards.
To top it off, on the way back I was travelling solo, and the RCMP fined me for failure to obey traffic signs.
So? Money, I did not really save.

Yesterday, I bought groceries for the week. Planned a menu, and shopped accordingly. Experts claim, this is the way to go ! Of course Loverboy and Son #1 think it 's great. I'll see how it goes.

I like eggplant. The trouble is ....  this is the only way I eat it.
Slice it up, top it with salsa or pizza sauce as I did here.
Add some slices of tomatoes and onion (I sliced grape tomatoes) and sprinkle a bit of cheese.
Bake at 375F for 10 minutes, on a lighty greased sheet or until tender.
I usually peel the slices, as it makes it easier to eat.
Some call it a fruit, I call it a vegetable, either way, it comes from the eggplant, and derives from India.
There doesn't seem much to the eggplant, but it has tons of good stuff about it. Antioxidants, anti-viral. I read that one person ate some and the next day their flu as gone.

6 months post Lipoma surgery

Wow, it's been a long time.
My leg likely still makes a bit of water, and I often will feel it trickle, on the inside. Of course, my body is slowly absorbing the water at the same. Some day it will all stop and the leg will get smaller. Right?
The area is not as hard as it was, and my mobility is good. I have been biking, and recently had a lymphatic massage. While the enlarged part of the leg didn't measure less after the massage, it did feel less tight. It still stings once or twice a day for a few minutes. Nerves still under repair, I guess.

The scar isn't super cute, but it's still better than the tumor. It's all on the inner thigh, and really not that noticeable. Hard to believe, I know.
It's part of me, and am learning to love it. That's the most important part.

Cindy Day

is the most popular weather forecaster. She had 58% of the votes ! I don't mind her, really , but she likes the snow and ice too much for my liking. One of the gents at the home prefers Cindy Day because she doesn't stand infront of Yarmouth when she gives the weather, like Peter Coade does.

Thanks Bernice, for being so hospitable today, as usual. We always enjoy our visit to the museum. Always fun to watch the ladies doing different crafts ! I hope many come in to see the old musical instruments. It's a very nice display !

TV and sleeplessness

Most experts agree that a television is often the cause for sleepless nights. Our brain hears the dialogue, music, and the light penetrates our closed eyelids. White noise, however, like a TV channel with no picture, or a radio off the air, is said to work well.

Shoppe a Slu

Used to sell, in the 1970's, a jar of peanut butter with jelly swirled throughout it.
What was it called?
Anybody remember?
I googled it and found "Google" or "Goober"?
I thought it started with an M or Z.

Week #3 Dishracket

Last week, the dishrack 's picture was taken on Yvette and Edgar's stone wall.

Here's a big hint for today's picture: the actual stonewall isn't much bigger than what you see pictured here. And it's in an offroad.

Survey Says...

most of my readers are dreading the day that their vagina starts to have thinner walls and produce less natural secretions. As I once mentioned, the aging man with his softer erect penis
is nature's way of protecting our thin vagina walls. Isn't aging great ?

Tidy Tuesday

Stinky dish towels are the topic.
I use a bit of bleach usually, but what about towels and dishcloths you'd rather not have in bleach?
Vinegar: you can add 1 cup of vinegar to your load of towels, & dishcloths. Add the detergent, and let it wash a bit. Stop the machine and let sit overnight. In the morning, continue the wash as usual.
Borax: I like borax . Add equal amounts of borax and washing or baking soda to your wash. No need for detergent. Turn on the machine ! That's it.
Really you should replace your dishcloth everyday with a clean one, and hang it, or lay it, open to dry. Don't crumple it up wet, that's asking for smelly bacteria .

Prime Rib Roast

Made a delicious Prime Rib Roast for supper.
I used my probe and the convection roast setting on my oven.
Dried the roast with paper towel, then rubbed the roast with oil, and seasoned it with salt and pepper.
Baked it in an open dish, ribs down. The roast was actually on its side.
Baked it at 450F for 15 minutes, and reduced the heat to 325F. I set the probe for 160F inner temperature, and in an hour and a half at the 325F temperature, it was well done. Usually, prime rib is served a bit rarer than this. We cooked deer tenderloin before up to 140F and it was perfect for me, it was medium.
An hour before it was done, I added a cup of hot water and some chopped onions to the dish.
The roast was fabulous, so, so tender, and the gravy was beautiful as well.

Survey says....

Ham... was the choice of meal for Easter. 64% . Turkey was second at 27%, 11% ate something else, and 3 readers had Rappie Pie.( My sis and I were two of the three).
And why is ham so often the meal at Easter ?
I read the following... ~~If Jesus ate meat at the Last Supper, it would have been lamb. Jewish Passover traditions call for lamb, and so do most European traditions. But, in north Europe pigs, were always important. Hams, from pigs slaughtered in the winter, then salted and smoked were ready to eat in the spring-before fresh meats were available. This is especially true in North America where lamb was never an important meat. ~~

Monday's Sexual Post

As I approach the 50's , (still a good year and a half to go), I keep hearing more and more about vaginal dryness. The stories are horrifying! Drier than the Sahara ! Nothing. Nada. Underwear so clean, you could practically wear them all week! And painful sex ! Just imagine !
Reports show that 1 in 4 post-menopausal women has such bad vaginal dryness that she experiences burning and sharp pain during intercourse.
But there's a lot of other symptoms that develop as we "dry" up. Itching, stinging, pressure, frequent urination, irritation... just to name a few.
What can we do to help?
  • avoid douches and hygiene sprays
  • stay hydrated ! Drink water !
  • Eat a little bit of "good fat" with every meal. Flax seed Oil and soy have estrogen like effects, and may help somewhat with vaginal dryness.
  • Use lubricant. And lots of it.

Money well spent? Part 2

So that week flew by...
I made an effort, but could have done better.
At the golf course, I brought an apple with me, and my own water.
The boys never went to the Creamy Treat.
I cooked 2 meals from the freezer. One was Duck breasts that needed to be eaten.
My sister gave me sauce for a lasagna, and I made a slow cooker lasagna yesterday.
Sunday 5.75 (kwikway)
Monday 39.15 (co-op twice and hospital)
Tuesday 25.38 (co-op and Rudders meeting)
Wednesday 2.00 (at BINGO)
Thursday 100.81 ( cat food at co-op, Sobeys, and a Diet soda at Shoppers)
Friday ( it was a holiday)
Saturday $76.65 ( Prime Rib on sale Sobeys, a Fresca at the Shell and a Dairy queen cake) I hated to go get the Prime rib roasts, but they were on sale, one day only...
What? still 249.74 !! I am $9 higher than last week !!!
I gotta try one more week...
SO, how about you???

Horned Melon

Well, it I tried it. But that'll be good for my lifetime. Taste a little tart, like a tart cucumber. It was nothing like the yummy granadilla I had last week.
The horned melon is native to Africa, and it is now grown in California, Chile, Australia and New Zealand as well. It comes from the melon and cucumber family. You can cook with it, but mostly it's eaten as a fruit. You suck out the pulp and spit out the seeds. Sugar or salt, can change the taste. I would say sugar...
