Running Well




Avoid Injuries and Improve Performance
The Barrington Recreation Department will be hosting a session for anyone interested in learning to run well, avoid injuries and improve their performance, Thursday, May 22, 6:30 pm to 8 pm. 
The session will be held at the Sherose Island Recreation Centre.
The guest speaker will be Jason Lomond from Bridgewater. Jason is a registered occupational therapist, as well as a certified exercise physiologist. For the past 12 years, Jason has worked as an occupational therapist throughout Canada enabling people to do the activities they want to do. Prior to that he spent several years as a strength and conditioning consultant helping people develop higher levels of physical preparedness. He now uses an integrated and holistic approach to enable people to achieve their goals. (www.jasonlomond.com)
In his presentation, Jason will discuss the following: how people run – the gait cycle; common causes of running injuries; show how to assess yourself for potential injuries and identify high value nodes; address tight muscles; and address weak muscles.
